Starting Baseball

Hello America and the rest of the world! You should probably get used to me saying that.

I found a sign-up sheet in some school mail that I got. It was Burlington Baseball League. I'm signing up for minors.

It's not really coach pitch or little league. It's a mix between. Sometimes they have machines that pitch and sometimes coaches pitch and sometimes kids pitch to kids. Some of deciding to play baseball is because of my New Years resolution to try a new sport this year. I usually play spring football, but I've never played baseball before so I decided to give it a try. I played t-ball before but that doesn't count. The reason I didn't play baseball for so long is because my dad beaned me in the funny bone, he beaned me in the leg, he beaned me in the shin two times, so after that I was in a lot of pain. It was a bad day.

Today I went to the preseason warm-up. It's basically where you just play catch and then coaches throw you pop flies and then - this is the best part - you go home. (I meant that to be sarcastic. I didn't want to go home.) I had lots of fun. Even though the ball went over the fence a bunch of times and I had to go get it because I was the one standing by the fence. My dad didn't bean me once today. That was probably the best part of my day. He was too busy playing with my little sister. They were playing catch. He didn't bean her either.

See you later America and the rest of the world!

Super Bowl Olympics and Skiing

Hello, World! How ya doin'? Good? Okay. The Super Bowl was last night. You probably already know that. We went to a Super Bowl party at a friend's house. It was cool.

The Vancouver Olympics started. I saw the opening on TV. One of our friend's brothers is a security guard for the hockey games. Last night I watched the women's hockey. It was Finland against China. I think one of the Finland players broke her shin. One of the Chinese players got mad because she thought a goal didn't count and slashed her. I think that's not really something you should break someone's shin about.
I skipped school yesterday and I got to go skiing. I got big air. It was cool. And fun. My little sister, she's four years old, can already go down Turnpike. Turnpike is a blue square, which is if you go one more level up you're at a black diamond.

That's all folks! For now. Please comment. Thank you.

The Super Bowl 2010 and others

Hello, World!

How's it going? What's new?

The Super Bowl is coming up. I'm going for the Colts, but Payton Manning is out with a broken ankle. They said he's questionable. I hope he can play. I think the Colts would. . . fall apart without him. The Saints are hot too. I haven't heard any injury reports of any of the Saints players. My friend Stu said that the Saints could sure use a Super Bowl win. That would be good for them.
The Winter Olympics are coming up too. I'll want to watch that too. I like Shaun White. He does some crazy snowboarding stunts. I heard he's changing his nickname. There's also the skiing. They do some cool stunts too. I ski too. It's really fun. My favorite thing about skiing is going off ramps.

That's all for now! Please comment, and I'll write again after the Super Bowl.

Pro Bowl, X Games, Skiing and Hockey

Hi, again! And thanks for the comments. I was at my grandpa's watching the Pro Bowl last night. Let's hear it for AFC!! The game was really good, and my favorite team player, Vince Young for the Titans, was the starting quarterback in the Pro Bowl for the AFC. The coolest things about it was the diving touchdown made by Jacksonville’s David Garrard. Even though the NFC scored it, it was still the coolest thing.

And we also switched back and forth to the X Games. The X Games were X-treme! It was who could get the biggest air on snowmobiles. It was really cool. And then after the snowmobiles, it was the biggest air in skiing, and that was cool too. They did really cool tricks also.

Speaking of skiing, my sister went skiing with my dad on Saturday and my dad said they had some really big wipe outs. My sister's only four years old and she's already doing the triple chair.

I had hockey Saturday too. We did lots of drills and I only fell twice.

That's all folks! See ya later!

LeBron James Fine

Hello! I'm Zach. I'm 8 years old and I am an elementary sports nut. My dad's weird, but one thing that's great about him is that he's a high school teacher sports nut. I started hockey and it's really fun. This blog is about sports, what I think and don't think about what a good idea is about sports.

Here's an example:

LeBron James. LeBron James threw a water bottle at a water jug. Cups went flying into the air, and the NBA made him owe a $25,000 fine. I don't get why they can do that. Sports celebrities are still people, like everyone else. All he did was get mad. If a guy was eating chips in his basement watching TV and he did the same thing, would the cops knock down his door and say, "You owe a $25,000 fine!"?

See ya later!
